Accomodations

X-Bar Ranch Accommodations (adjacent to observing area):

  • Camping (tent, vehicle, or “dry-camping” RV): $10/night/person (Use ESP Registration form to reserve and to pay), children 5 and under are FREE, when accompanied by parent.
  • Ranch lodging & RV hookups  – requires reservation with X Bar Ranch, separate from ESP registration

    All facilities are presently wait-listed, except for RV hookups and camping.

    • RV hookups: (6 night minimum on nights of ESP)     (Openings Available)
      – 12 adjacent to observing site (5 each 15 Amp, 7 each 30/50 Amp) electric hookup only:
      (25’ max. RV length in this area)
      – 7 outside adjacent light fence (water, sewer, and 30/50 Amp electric hookup only)
      – 6 nearby at X-Bar’s Live Oak Lodge (water and 30 Amp electric hookup only)
      – Other RVs may “dry camp” at regular camping rates (above), use ESP Registration form to reserve and pay.

      • Do not run generators unless parked in parking lot area at front gate (see exception below). RVs should NOT camp or park immediately next to observing field. There is a special and convenient area available immediately north of the pipeline (see site map). Generators may be used only during the hours of 10 am to noon and 4 to 7 pm daily if parked anywhere inside the light fence.
    • 9 Cabins (6 night minimum on nights of ESP):
      • 6 standard cabins, plus Bunkroom: 
      • X-Bar’s larger cabins Birdsong and Spiny Star 
      • 1/2 mile walk to nearby Live Oak Lodge, see X-Bar Ranch Lodging
    • Round House (Part of X-Bar Ranch), for 2-5 people: 
      • about 3 miles (10 minute drive) from the Lodge / Observing Field. 2 bedrooms (King and 3 twins), bathroom with a shower. Appealing to non-astronomer guests who want the lights on, read, watch TV, etc.
    • Granger House:  for 3-7 people (3 bedrooms, 1 bath + living/kitchen space)  Call for reservation.

     

    Other Accommodations (Motels and RVs):

     

    X-Bar Ranch Meals (optional, but must be purchased by October 10, 2022):

    • Lunch $23/person, Dinner $23/person (prices approx $5 higher, if purchased on-site at least 1 day in advance)
    •      (Sorry, not available to eclipse-day-only attendees)
    • Served via a short walk at nearby X-Bar Live Oak Lodge
